Merlin's saggy left--
When you see this, post five seven unpopular fandom opinions in your journal.

1. [Doctor Who] I adore Steven Moffat and all his DW episodes (except for the fourth season two-parter, because no amount of fangirlism can get me to appreciate River), so I'm actually curious to see what he'll do with Eleven. I'll miss Tennant like hell, but I'll definitely give the next series a chance.

2. [Torchwood] I hate Torchwood. I've watched several episodes, and I should like it, really—I love Jack, and James Marsters was in it, even, I should've been all over that, but...no. The team fails, and even Jack fails, and Owen fails, and Gwen fails oh God, so hard, and the plotlines are ridiculous, and they're all amazingly inefficient and terrible at their jobs, and just, what the hell were you high on when you allowed this to happen, RTD?

Harry Potter, Star Trek, Merlin, et al. )

I signed up to write two [info]reel_merlin fics: Laws of Attraction and Imagine Me & You. *headdesk* I think it's a masochism thing. But hey, I have until September—I may actually finish them, who knows?

Oh, and just because it's being debated everywhere: Michael Jackson died. The rumour outbreak broke the internet—including, but not limited to, LJ, Twitter, E! and CNN. I'm pretty sure [info]ohnotheydidnt did the LJ-breaking; the comm was inaccessible for a while before the whole site crashed down. Damn, I really wanted to read people's comments on the matter. Way to go, ONTD!

I feel sorry for the bazillion people who bought tickets for his 'This Is It' 2010 tour, anyhow. The man's musical talent was respect-worthy regardless of personal taste, even if his private life was a godawful mess.
WTF? ^^
I have a very, very serious problem I could really use your help with.

a picture is worth a thousand words and all that. )

I swear I'm not joking. *grins* I've no idea what to do, and I've wasted far too much time thinking this through. Help?

Download Day - English

Add your name to the list! They're aiming for millions of downloads (not updates, downloads of the full program) on launch day—and we all know Firefox rocks :D The Download Day in question should be at some point in June.

J. K. Rowling wrote an eight-hundred-word short story about the Marauders. Oh my God *dies* *WANTS* *has pre-ordered her copy of the book in question*
DIAF :D
Stephenie Meyer is currently number one on the poll for Time's list of most influential people this past year. Oh dear God. Please click on the link above and give people below her a fighting chance—Twilight fans seem to have undertaken the task to get her to the top, and it's just...*facepalms repeatedly* No. Wrong. It's Harry Potter: Best Animated Independent Foreign Language Documentary all over again. Only worse.

Go ahead, give Meyer the '1' she deserves. *nudges*

Also, here are some ideas of people you may want to give high ratings to:
  • Stephen Colbert (naturally);
  • Jon Stewart (obviously *fangirls*);
  • Steve Jobs, Apple CEO (because I adore him, and I'm currently minutes away from his house);
  • Bono (because I had to);
  • Jimbo Wales, creator of Wikipedia (because you all know I secretly have an altar at home where I make daily sacrifices to him);
  • Al Gore (because he's cool).

    There are several other in/famous people, of course, from Amy Winehouse to Nelson Mandela. Take your pick. But *fumes* not Stephenie Meyer. Edit: Oh look, people agree with me *grins*

    Speaking of which, I read the Twilight series this week. It was every bit as awful and cringe-worthy as everyone told me it would be, and also highly entertaining. At least now I can follow (and contribute to) the constant debates at UR with [info]_thirty2flavors, [info]inksplotched, [info]callmepatsy and others.

    In my last post, I asked for top 5 lists; I will try to post some of them in every post from now on.

    Five ships and the songs I associate with them, as requested by Liz, with download links )

    So... that ended up being ridiculously long. Plus, it took me a while to upload all the songs, so I won't do any more top 5 lists tonight. I promise the next ones will be briefer *laughs* And oh look, in the time it took me to finish this post, Rain got the #1 spot from Meyer, by a small margin. This probably isn't cause for celebration, though *grins*

    [info]moon_dancing arrives tomorrow! *bounces*

    ETA, April 14th Stephen Colbert is #1, and Jon Stewart is #2! Smeyer's been kicked to the 39th spot. Brilliant.

    Tee hee. Check it out!

    For some reason, this Shoebox icon post made me all nostalgic. I WANT A NEW CHAPTER, DAMN IT. Yes, [info]ladyjaida and [info]dorkorific, I'm glaring at you. *fumes*

    I've been spending way too much time at LJ lately. And I've been posting far too often. Is it the memes? It's probably just hanging out with Runi often enough that I see her at LJ every day and because of this I remember to flist. I wonder if I can keep this up once I return to Brazil.

    Speaking of memes... Give me something I can make a top five list out of. Anything at all: top five favorite socks, top five favorite smells, or anything you want to know my top five of. The answers will be in my next post.

    You know the drill.
    26.03.08 - Do you Twit?
    Addicted!
    (Wow, I can't remember the last time I've had urges to update LJ this frequently.)

    Twitter is a microblog—all your posts must be under 140 characters, so you have to be concise. You can post as many times a day as you want, from the website, your favourite IMing software, Facebook or a Twitter downloadable client. You can also post and receive your friends' posts via SMS. You can even link your Facebook status to your current Twitter post!

    Yes, I do realise I sound like an ad.

    Anyway, some of my Brazilian friends have it, and [info]discreetly convinced me to get one earlier this month. I jumped on the bandwagon a bit (or very) late, but Twitter really is an awesome way to keep track of what people have been doing at a glance. Not to mention Stephen Colbert is a Twitterer. (So is Barack Obama, and of course Darth Vader.)

    Go on and join! :D
